The Canyon Club is Querencia's family activity campus, distinct from the golf-focused Clubhouse and the oceanfront Beach Club. It has been under construction in phases since at least 2023, and the gap between what the club's own materials describe and what outside coverage has actually seen on the ground has widened enough that it's worth sorting out, especially if you're the one trying to plan a Saturday around it.
Phase One Was the Easy Part
Phase one opened in the winter of 2024 and delivered exactly what it promised: a skate park, a pump track, a soccer field, and basketball and beach volleyball courts. All outdoor, all straightforward to build, all easy to photograph for a brochure. That phase set the expectation for what phase two would be.
Phase two turned out to be a different kind of project.
The December Deadline
Materials describing the buildout pointed to a December 2025 completion date for the full Canyon Club campus. The list at that point included a trampoline park, an indoor climbing wall, a family pool with a splash zone, an on-site market called el Merkado stocked with fresh produce, juices, smoothies, and coffee, dining, and an open-air cinema. Some versions of that list also mentioned a bowling alley and a dog park. Other versions, published around the same time, left those two out entirely.
That's not a small discrepancy. A dog park either exists on a members-only property or it doesn't, and the fact that it appears in one account and not another suggests the final scope was still moving even as the December date approached.
What Showed Up Instead
By January 2026, outside travel coverage was describing a Canyon Club that had already grown past its own published spec sheet. That coverage listed a restaurant, an arcade, a golf simulator, a playground, and a ninja course among the campus's amenities. None of those four items, the simulator especially, appear anywhere in Querencia's earlier phase-two descriptions.

This isn't unique to the Canyon Club. Querencia's Beach Club has been described as "newly opened" in the club's own materials since at least December 2023. Pages published in September 2025 and again in March 2026 still use that same phrase, word for word, years after the Beach Club actually opened. That's not evidence the Beach Club is somehow still unfinished. It's evidence that once a line of copy gets written, nobody circles back to update it, even on a page that gets refreshed for other reasons.
For a resident, the practical takeaway is simple: the club's own website is not the fastest way to find out what's currently open. A phone call to the front desk, or a question to staff at the Clubhouse, will get you a more current answer than any published amenity page, including this one.

That's the intent behind the Canyon Club. The gap between intent and published detail is just what happens when a family campus keeps expanding faster than the paragraphs describing it.
The Beach Club's Dining Rotation, By Name
While the Canyon Club has been the moving target, the Beach Club's dining lineup has settled into something specific enough to plan around. Four venues sit along Acapulquito Beach, a swimmable and surfable stretch of the Sea of Cortez that gives Querencia a different coastal profile than the rougher Pacific side of the peninsula:
- La Ola, the indoor and outdoor anchor restaurant at the Beach Club
- Jorge's, a quick sushi and handroll bar named after one of Querencia's own members
- Ocean Grill, poolside and casual, with salads, tacos, bowls, and guacamole, and ocean views that turn into a whale-watching backdrop in season
- Pop's, a retro-style dessert shop
None of these four have shifted names or descriptions across the sources that mention them, which is its own useful signal. The dining rotation is stable. The construction campus is not.
Beyond the Amenities: The Calendar
The parts of Querencia life that don't show up on any static amenity page are arguably the ones worth tracking most closely. The club's Speaker Series has run sessions on subjects ranging from world politics to the science of aging to sound healing, bringing outside voices in for members who want more than a pool day. A newer culinary director has added monthly chef's table dinners to the calendar, alongside an annual wine and food festival that has reportedly sold out every year it's been held.
None of that requires a construction crew. It requires checking the events calendar rather than the amenities page, which tells you more about what's actually happening this month than any list of finished square footage.
